Posted - 26 Feb 2004 : 22:40:53 CONGRATULATIONS TO CLAWHAMMER WINNERS 1.5 PIE
1ST PLACE 1.5 PIE 466 POINTS 2ND PLACE BLUES 434 POINTS 3RD PLACE BGEES 312 POINTS
Very well flown to the 1.5 PIE team who were Reaps (lead) , Weezer, Mephisto and Badger. This talented team took the lead after the the 2nd mission and never looked back. These 4 pilots were undoubtedly the most consistent team and are therefore worthy winners indeed.
Well done also to the BLUES team of Tracer (lead) , Ballistic, Stingray and the Vosene/Pinbeck combination who ran them a close second and closed the gap to only 3 points with 2 missions to go. 4 of their missions were completed with only a 3 man team which makes you wonder what might have been had they been at full strength.
Credit also to the BGEES team of Bigbrother (lead) , Goose, Turnburn and Ktel for their much improved 2nd half performance and for persevering to the (almost) bitter end. Thank you for your participation.
The final mission saw the teams escorting a 4 ship of transport aircraft to an airfield behind enemy lines. 1.5PIE and Blues both achieved a mission success, the former returning all 4 pilots safe and well, the latter losing 1 man to an entanglement with a MIG 29 which was marred by technical problems. BGEES were only able to field 2 pilots on the night due to circumstances beyond their control and therefore decided not to fly the final mission returning a null score.

Very well flown to all the Clawhammer pilots in what was an entertaining competition flown in the very best spirit of the 185th. Command will be announcing suitable awards for all the participants in the near future.
Look out also for the next midweek competition which will involve teams of 2 flying against human opposition. Full details to follow shortly.
