Posted - 31 Oct 2005 : 21:10:45 This week the teams took on a challenging naval strike against a convoy of cargo ships who were supported, as it turned out, by top of the line enemy fighter cover. Results were mixed.
GREEN found the mission to be a significant challenge, losing 2 pilots to enemy fire and their leader to an unfortunate Technical failure resulting in a failed mission. Flight Score 187.
RED fared marginally better but lost 4 from 6, taking out 4 enemy planes in the process but also wiping out the majority of the strike flight so a mission success was made impossible, the 2 remaining pilots having no option but to RTB. Flight score 190.
BLACK also lost their leader, this time to a last minute LOA. Of the 5 remaining pilots, 2 made it home, 5 AA kills were claimed but not enough targets were hit to claim even a partial success. Flight Score 208.
BLUE were this weeks top achievers recording a creditable partial success with only 4 pilots, 1 pilot making it home and also 5 AA kills recorded for the team. Top score on the night was Tiger with 60 points. Flight score 269.
Full results in details available from the CPL section of the War Room. Awards for October are covered in a separate post.
