[CLASSIFIED: SECRET (185th VFS Eyes Only)
SITUATION:
With Israeli ground forces now pushing west through Northern Sinai, the task of the 185th/186th VFS is to soften up air defences west of the Suez Canal, both to enable further advances west and also to deliver a clear message to the Egyptian government f#ck around and find out.
Several SAM systems have been sighted just west of the Suez, a SA-17 and Hawk have been located in the vicinity of As Salihiya Airbase (these will be your primary objective) and a second, although depleted Hawk Battalion is located somewhere near Abu Suwayr Airbase. Given sufficient pilots and airframes, this battalion should also be targeted.

Primary targets:
SA-17 Launchers & Radar

Hawk Radars

Secondary targets:
The southern Hawk Battalion at Abu Suwayr may be attacked if sufficient pilots and airframes allow.
INTEL
Given the phenomenal successes of the eagle drivers from the 186th, we now enjoy total air superiority with the Egyptian air force all but completely decimated, nevertheless a flight of F15C aircraft have been made ready in the event that the 186th wish to practice take off and landing (NB: mission host to delete this flight if not required). Surface threats are as briefed with the potential for additional MANPAD systems both in the AO as well as en route but then again, if youre that low, you deserve to get one up the pipe!
SUPPORT
NATO continues to authorise logistical and EW support to Israeli forces. Whilst NATO forces are not permitted to engage in active combat with Egyptian forces (unless fired upon), UN Charter 11979 has authorised limited use of AEW capability. To that end, an E3A Sentry (Escorted by 2x F15C) has been tasked from RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus and is on station for a further 4 hours.

WEAPONS
All F-16 flights have been pre-fitted with Delilah (IR) Cruise Missiles and heavy wing tanks, however weapon loadout is at flight lead discretion. Should flight leads require alternative loadouts, the Crew Chief drinks Jack Daniels.
Mission Success Criteria:
Mission Success: 1. Ground SA17 all launchers and Snowdrift destroyed 1a. Ground Hawk Both radars destroyed 1b. If DEAD ground jettison required, no losses to enemy air/SAM. 2. DCA No losses to enemy air action.
Partial Success: 1. Ground SA17 minimum 2 launchers destroyed 1a. Ground Hawk minimum 1 radar destroyed 1b. If DEAD ground jettison required, maximum 1 loss to enemy air 2. DCA Maximum 1 loss to enemy air action
Mission Fail: Any losses to SAM will result in a mission fail for the losing flight, regardless of targets destroyed.
Supplementary
So far, of the 4 squadrons of F16 SUFA platform deployed to the theatre, the 185th has fared best with only 5 losses of aircraft and we have recently received a replacement airframe, bringing the Sqn total to 12 serviceable aircraft. However, whilst we anticipate that these losses will eventually be replaced/repaired, this takes time and obvious financial cost. All pilots MUST take any and all precautions necessary to return their aircraft to either Homeplate, or other friendly airbases. We cannot afford any further losses or we will be forced to transfer to a lesser platform such as the Block 30 variant. You have been warned.
Good Luck.
The 4 things a wingman is allowed to say:
1.Two 2.Lead, you're on fire. 3.I'm bingo fuel. 4.I'll take the fat one.... :/
