CLASSIFIED: SECRET (185th VFS Eyes Only)

Situation: After the successful interdiction of a large enemy force along the coastal road, a second enemy formation, possibly following an amphibious landing at Ashquelon, has made a rapid advance northward. Intel reports elements of the 8th and 102nd Motor Rifle Battalions supported by 1st Mech Batt and the 2nd Armoured Batt have captured Hatzor and Tel Nof airbases. Their current axis of advance is to the east of Tel Aviv with the possible intent to take the city thereby disrupting our C3I. We have mobilised a large combined blocking force lead by the 51st Armoured Batt and the enemy advanced will be contained. Of concern is a second enemy incursion 20 miles SE of Nevatim airbase. This force comprises the 8th and 9th Egyptian armoured Batts with a combined strength of 60+ M1A1s. Their northward axis is of concern with the possible intention of capturing the airbase hence reducing friendly air activity in the area.

INTEL
The enemy air threat remains largely unchanged from previous intel. The airbases at Faid and Abu Suwayr are home to several squadrons of Egyptian F16-32, F16-40 and F16-52+, these remain intact. Enemy air threats have been encountered in considerable strength during previous missions – notably Mig29 and Rafale fighter aircraft. No SAM units have been detected in the area but pilots should keep alert to the threat of MANPADs and other mobile air defence systems that may be advancing with the armoured battalions.

Mission:The 185th squadron will attack and eliminate the enemy armoured force at TOS 2.4.06.00 last known location 30.51.742 35.11.837 to prevent their advance.

Execution: Three flights of F16 Sufas, Panther 5, Plasma 4 and Cobra 7 will conduct a coordinated strike on the enemy force. Top cover will be provided by Lancer 1 F15c. Coordination, and loadout will be at the discretion of flight leads.

COMMAND AND SIGNALS
Flight leads as designated and Comms as per SOPs and briefing document

SUPPORT

NATO continues to authorise logistical and EW support to Israeli forces. Whilst NATO forces are not permitted to engage in active combat with Egyptian forces (unless fired upon), UN Charter 11979 has authorised limited use of AEW capability. To that end, an E3A c/s Sentry 1 has been tasked from RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus.
