Following our initial sorties in response to Egyptian aggressive interdictions into Israeli airspace, command has decided to remove or reduce the Egyptian air threat in preparation for Israeli ground forces to advance across the Egyptian desert. Two airbases of priority have been identified at Faid and Abu Suwayr. These airbases must be neutralised in the coming weeks. However, of a more pressing concern is a number of enemy armoured and mechanized units seen advancing east towards Israeli territory. These units must be stopped or at least slowed to give Israeli ground forces time to prepare defensive positions along the Israel/Egypt border. The 185th VFS is tasked to interdict these ground units and slow their advance.

Two groups of armoured and mechanized units have been identified in the vicinity of Nakhl Military Base. Both groups contain a mix of M1A1 tanks, M113 APC and supporting vehicles. Priority targets are armoured units.

INTEL The nearby airbases at Faid and Abu Suwayr are home to several squadrons of Egyptian F16-32, F16-40 and F16-52+. Package commander/Air Boss should consider this on ingress and during mission. In addition, a SA3 battalion is situated approx. 30nm from the AO but should not be a factor as long as pilots do not stray to the east and southeast.
I also have some good news. After much deliberation by European and US leaders, NATO has been authorised to provide logistical and EW support to Israeli forces. Whilst NATO forces are not permitted to engage in active combat with Egyptian forces (unless fired upon), UN Charter 11979 has authorised limited use of AEW capability. To that end, an E3A Sentry (Escorted by 2x F15C) has been tasked from RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus and will likely be on station by the time you get airborne.
