Allied forces are performing offensive A-A operations on Kamilarvi with OCA operation starting at 20:50, while ground forces are consolidating our ground posture.
Active airbases:
* KAJAANI 65% (26 Su27s)
* KUUSAMO 80% (11 Su37)
* PYHASALMI 100% (7 Mig29S)
* RAAHE-PATTIJOKI 45% (26 Su27s)
* SODANKYLA 100% (11 Mi26s)
* VUOJARVI HIGHWAY STRIP 0%
Since the last OCA mission was a success but the enemy still has lots of active airbases, the proposed mission is still long-range OCA with a SWEEP/ESCORT.
Because the available pilot numbers are fluid, the mission will be setup on site.
Please be present on time, with the gear setup. |

Fury11: "Fisty" AA=0 AG=0 RTB
Fury12: "Zipgun" AA=4 AG=0 RTB

Ingressed ahead of the STR and found only a single AS-50 (with no escort) between their IP and the target. Called Cowboy in to shoot their Greyhounds and CAP'd E/W while they were in flight. Picked up a 2-ship SU27 to the East so #2 fired at both in TWS. On Miller time, cleared 2 in hot on the AS-50 as he was close enough. He got a damage on it. On Egress, Cowboy handed off a contact to the North. Declared them as a Mig29 2-ship so engaged, again with #2 as shooter as he was in the lead pos'n. He fired on the trailer and #1 fired on the leader. Both got hits, but #2's was shot down and #1's was just a damaged.
No further issues on the RTB. Went for a straight in from Right Base onto r/way 12.

Ingress as fragged, weapons deployment inside 30 seconds so very well timed and precise. AFB out of commission: Mission completed and succesful.
Egress had a enemy flight interfering but they had a very bad day on account of Fisty and Zipgun being airborne :)
Strike flight egressed and did a hold to wait for a clear on the pattern for homeplate. Due to nightvision/night time desorientation Mango was in a bank w/o radar altimeter and
crashed just short of runway 120 for recovery.
Overall great flight, great formation, good comms: 10/10 for me. Thanks guys: It. was. fun. :) |
