Scruffy ELOA.
Score correction required Fisty 1 AA 3 AG as per debrief text and mission tape.
Joined flight and proceded to target area. Spent a lot of time anchoring before being cleared
forward and then pushed off target because it was too busy. Failed to get sufficient weapons away and
on target. Eventually requested RTb.

Took off close behind Panther. It became extremely busy over the target area very quickly. I saw that Panther were heading to The first contacts but also noted that the enemy had gone past him. Picture was not clear for me. I asked for an update but info was limited, probably due to the heat of the moment.
I pushed on and successfully engaged one of the bandits. This is where my rookie mistake came in. I ventured too far north while concentrating on the FCR and also got too close to the enemy. Floyd was telling me this (without swearing at me, which I would have understood if he did) as I turned around. It wasn't quick enough to stop me getting a AA-12/R-77 enema and down I went.
Floyd stayed on station and killed one SA-11 launcher while maintaining an AA support presence before heading home with the rest of the package.

Ingress as fragged, after push point and just after the first engagements from Panther 1 over the AO, we came in on CAP just N/E of that area and we're able to scan far and get a picture while Panther went cold. Held the CAP and several engagements ensued. 5 kills in total and we had to abandon the CAP bingo on weapons and fuel. archored on the fallback point and RTB before the CAS was done. Maximum playtime 20min. for the CAP is too long with a busy picture. Otherwise a very nice dusk flight with smoking Su-27's all over the place :-)

Very busy picture on the way in, called that out on tactical, and started engaging. It was challenging and had to work for it, but I'd say we did OK considering the picture. I wish I could have talked even more, and at times I might have been slow to respond due to engaging.
After a couple engagements, we ended up with 2 & 3 Squash (no slammers) and reorganized the flight accordingly.
Once the air picture cleared I was worried that we couldn't provided the supported needed, but eventually we ended up as a package as Joker fuel and weapons.
Also, the strike flight had issues with acquiring targets and before we were joker, Sabre called RTB and we all went home as a package with Panther 11 & 14 bring out the rear.
Good support and calls from Viper and Snake.
Overall good mission. |
