yeah our comms on victor were pretty much back to back busy. I would assume we missed it. (I sure know I did). Good feedback to work on next week.

Rgr must have been tumbleweed/chatter on our side.

I did a Uniform check with the Strike Flight to confirm it wasn't an issue at my end Sharpe.

While I was busy too Vosene I didn't hear very much from you myself - I normally prompt the FL if I think he has missed a package comm.

I might have been swamped like Ironman too though, but just in case it was technical and something you need to look at in your setup I thought I would let you know.

No worries Ironman, I thought it was a tech issue. If busy just give a standby like I did later in the flight and calling a commit on bandits groups lets everyone know what your flight is doing.

Vosene - sorry you had comms issues with me - we were a bit busy but I am working on it ;0)

Yeah i know ...A 6 ripple release with 100ft would have been tighter and better, but figured it wouldnt matter much as the burst altitude was rather high. Ive setup burst altitude to 3300ft and 500ft between ripples (know from recon that there were 500ft between the two groups) so wanted to maximize pattern density on first group as i didn't know if situation would permit a east west attack where the groups were lined up.
Single ripple wansnt really an option as it was done in a steep dive from 20000 to 12000ft

Flight Role: Close Escort
Mustang11: "Vosene" AA=3 AG=0 RTB
Mustang12: "Scruffy" AA=2 AG=0 RTB

Mission Outcome: MS

Close Escort to Strike. Planned on staying with 5nm unless committing on a bandit group or delousing Escort.

Joined up with Strike and monitored MiG-23 engagements to North that Escort were handling. We turned to engaged a leaker group from the North but they turned cold so we turned back towards Strike.

As Strike started to engage ground targets we had a MiG-23 group that turned hot again. Lead killed first bandit but 2 did not have tally on trailer so we disengaged and the bandit was splashed by the Escort.

Continued to stay close to the Strike until we had another 2-ship bandit group hot from the West, which we splashed. Continued to support Strike and monitored several groups from the West and North West. They got within 20 nm hot so we committed on them, 10 seconds later Strike called RTB but we were committed. Lead splashed his 3rd bandit of the night then No 2 Deloused him to kill the trailer for his second kill. There were at least 2 other bandit groups approaching the position so we bugged out low and went home with the Escort clearing our tail, thank you.

Overall good support but I had comms issues with Escort Lead. Good flying from Scruffy, 2 kills and an RTB.

I like to imagine that Elmo's Maverick set off the nearest SA-2 missile warhead, which in turn caused a chain explosion of the other SA-2 missiles resulting in the whole cluster of units going kaboom... I'm sure BMS doesn't model that but otherwise my immersions will suffer severely.

I agree with Poppy, I would have rippled them in singles with 50-100 meters spacing
Poppy Posted - 20 Sep 2015 : 22:55:46
Veiland, I see you drop your MK-20's in pairs. you'd rather want to drop 'm in ripple with some spacing, or just 1 by 1 picking off the targets.

Actually Elmo kills both groups, 18-20 targets, with his 1st and 3rd Maverikcs
2nd and 4th Mavericks miss as groups are allready dead.
I then bomb both dead groups with deadly precision for good measure ...

3rd Egyyptian Air Defence XXX is totally wiped from what I can see.

Elmo 1st Maverick before

Elmo 1st Maverick after

Elmo 3rd Maverick before

Elmo 3rd Maverick after

My string of 6xMK-20. The 2 SA-2 I hit survives but are killed afterward by Utopic

Flight Role: Interdiction
Lion11: "Elmo" AA=0 AG=2 RTB
Lion12: "Utopic" AA=0 AG=10 RTB
Lion13: "Flying Stone" AA=0 AG=2 RTB
Lion14: "Veiland" AA=0 AG=0 RTB

Mission Outcome: MS

Took off and flew to target, had good comms from AA flights of hostile aircraft, decided to proceed into target, 1 got 4 mavericks off first pass with two hits and 2 came off dry. 3 and 4 proceeded in with 3 getting 2 mavericks off and 4 rippling all 6 bombs. 1 and 2 then came back in for a second pass and 2 got two bombs off, we then came around again for a third pass with 3 getting another 3 bombs off, as we were turning cold I advised 2 to go for target of opportunity at which point started to get AAA, 5 seconds later I got hit and called that I was RTB. 3 took lead and 2 got his last bomb off and then RTB was called to the package.

No problems getting home apart from a crash landing by me.

Good work from the A-A flights as apart from a few pings on RWR we were defended well.

Eagle 1 - support/escort/cap/any thing you want ;0)
Eagle 1:1 Ironman 3/0 RTB
Eagle 1:2 Sharpe 1/0 RTB
Eagle 1:3 Poppy 5/0 RTB
Eagle 1:4 ZipGun 0/0 RTB

ZipGun caught some AAA early on in the fight but got hit jet home - after that it was just one scrap after another with really good mutual support and good comms. Bingo calls caused us to knock it off and RTB. No strike planes were lost in the making of this mission - in fact everyone made it home for substantial losses for the enemy both MUD and A/A.
Excellent flight by all !!!
