Flight leads in this Sunday's official campaign mission, "Strong DPRK 10" are requested to post a debrief of their flights actions, including any lessons learned or that should be learned by others.

We were third up and in our sluggish block 40's we climbed slowly to FL290. It was too slow for the escorts as we ended up nearly 40 miles behind the lead escort flight. However, with SA being good throughout they slowed down a little and we sped up once we had levelled off. So by the time we arrived in the active zone and feet dry we were in positions to support each other.
Utopic called out about some flak over Kunsan, I despatched Elmo to hit the Fire Can radar, which he did without any problems. (I believe there may be more down there though).
We pushed on to the target area. Elmo was tasked with looking for Fire Cans at Pyongtaeg and Floyd with the SA2. The Firecan was greyed out and there was no sign of the SA-2 on HAD. It became apparent that there was more than one AAA battalion about so we switched our attention to them with varying results.
Luckily the SA2 lit up out of the darkness before we had used all our HARMs and Floyd killed it.
Now Arizona, we set up a CAP on the coast waiting for the strikes to be completed and in case the escorts needed back up. We had shots at MiG29A's but with no success.
We then settled down for a long but pleasant sunsetting flight home, dodging F-15's as we were landing.

Uneventful ingress up until about 40nm from target, we got spikes coming from the East which we called and Crowebar responded that they are engaging. Cowboy flight turned West and monitored RWR until naked on any air threats. Turned back into target and called in hot at 15nm+, designated Sabre to engage primary airfield (Pyongteag) and Mango to engage secondary (Osan) while lead maintained watch above target area. Once Sabre and Mango dropped stores, ordered to retrograde south to our STP10 as had incoming aircraft from the north. #1 & #3 then turned back north to support escort flight and #1 engaged 1x Su-30. Once pitbull Cowboy ordered RTB, nice sunset on the way back home.
Cowboy came in #3 for landing, very good setup all the way in, unfortunately as Mango landed an AI F-16 went over his head and landed in from of him causing him to crash into him. Due to it being a game issue, Mango gets an RTB
Must admit it was a very enjoyable mission. In the future strike is better to give ToT rather than distance as gives better SA for the escort flight.

Uneventfull transit to Steerpoint 3, where package turned North into bandit country. Heading North we picked up a few jamming contacts to the East, but nothing that was threatening.
Approaching target area we were the more Eastern of the two escort flights and picked up jamming contacts approx 30 miles off target, these were a flight of 4 Mig-29S out of Changju.
We were well setup with elements 10 miles apart in trail, and in spread formation on entering the engagement. #1 & #2 engaged lead element turned cold. At this point #was defensive a missile from the migs. #3 & #4 followed through and got shots off before both having to defend incoming missiles. With #2, #3 & #4 defensive, #1 turned hot and got a shot off at 1 of remaining 2 migs. While this resulted in a kill, it was probably a mistake as #1 was also hit at this point.
In evading the incoming missile #2, #3 & #4 all went cat 1 during this engagement. When all 3 were defensive #1 had called for Fury to support, before turning hot again. Fury were able to splash the remaining Mig. In hind sight, #1 shouldn't have turned hot, but rather continue West past Fury who were in a better position to engage.
While extending West past Fury during the above engagement Lobo picked up a single contact behind the package and successful engaged and killed it.
Lobo then setup a TARCAP to cover the strike as it went in, during which there was some enemy air activity at the target airfields, but Lobo did not engage any of this.
Members of the flight were by now fuel critical and had priority for landing. #4 in particular was very low and had to manage fuel closely in order to RTB with approx 300lbs left.
All in all, a good mission.

On the way in, we ended up too close to the target area and too far in front from the SEAD flight. That mean Lobo went in and engaged an enemy 4ship. They killed 3 and I believe we took out the 4th.
After that we went hot & cold when needed and engaged other enemy fighters scrambling.
Overall, good comms in the package, good SA, good target handoff, good cover, good flight formation.
The slotting for the landing was also good, overall a very enjoyable mission.
