MISSION OUTCOME: PS
Uneventful ingress, #1 and #2 located and engaged targets coastal and west of Pyongyang. While #3 was engaging targets, 1&2 noticed a large scramble north of Pyongyang. After giving the packet commander an assessment that the target was SAM-hot and about to be over-watched, he quickly (and correctly) aborted the mission with a successful primary accomplishment. Meanwhile, #3 was hit by significant FLACK over Pyongyang, and egressed to sea before a successful eject.

Mission Outcome: MS
Veiland / AA: 1xJ-5 + 1xAN-24 / AG: 1xFanSong Griffin / AA: 1xJ-5 + 1xMIG-29A / AG: 1xFanSong Flyingstone / AA: 1xJ-5 + 1xMIG-29A / AG: 1xLowBlow Floyd / AA: 1xJ-5 + 2xMIG-29A / AG: 2xLowBlow
Was first to take off well ahead of Weasel flight due to Viper6 taking of from Kunsan rather than Kwangju. 2x2ship J-5 was picked up west of bullseye over the Flot and they were engaged by both elements in a grinder and shot down in first pass. Meanwhile Weasel3 was told to maintain position at current position. The original holding area was over the flot but that area was obviously too hot. After this engagement Weasel3 was cleared in hot and 1st element proceeded towards Pyongyang and fired Harms at SA-2 and SA-3, while 2nd element stayed Air to Air. After 1st element turned cold, 2nd element called Mig-29 nails and engaged these downing 3 of them. Last Mig-29 was downed by Griffin. At this point Viper6 has a clear Air to Air picture but quite many SAM threats left over Pyongyang
Weasel3 asked for permission to head for their second target, which was granted, but shortly after Cowboy4 called Mig-29 Gorilla north of Pyongyang My oppinion was immediate RTB but called Cowboy4 for their take on the overall situation as they had better SA on what was happening north of Pyongyang. Luckily their oppinion was the same and the call to abort and RTB was called.
Uneventfull flight home. Good call from Cowboy4 to call Gorrilla. A quick look at the acmi showed 4 mig-29's just north of Pyongyang and 3-4 SU-37 coming down from the north.

Posted - 14 Dec 2014 : 22:55:43 Flight Role: STRIKE Weasel31: "Sharpe" AA=0 AG=1 RTB Weasel32: "Sabre" AA=0 AG=0 RTB
Mission Outcome: MS
Departed as briefed to angles 25. Headed towards target but got waved off due to air threat by Viper6. Once cleared back to target Weasel 1 engaged (after dropping below the cloud deck) came off after a good hit and returned back towards the IP. 2 went in but couldn't find a good target. At about this time the RTB was called and we RTB'd without incident.
Note to all: If a mission is restarted, re-check the weather conditions as they change. Sabre and I had originally taken LGB's with fair weather only to find we got in the pit and the wind direction had changed and there was thick cloud at angels 13!
-Sharpe
