Ingress was uneventful, lead element turned to engage 2xSU-27s to the west, but were called off by Fury. Split the flight to establish counter-rotating CAP at STP 3&4 ... lead element briefly declared a pair of Mig-23s, but the targets faded. With no declared threats, we made our left turn at STP3 and were engaged from behind by heat seekers. Both 1&2 were hit and ejected. 3&4 continued to CAP, with good success.

Discussed tactics during briefing.
1). Stick together as a four ship and not split into elements.
2). Define a no cross line.
3). Stay close to our flight plan.
Departed Kwangju, as we proceeded to steerpoint 2 noted two things, the other flights were late departing and a huge furball was unfolding in front of us.
Counted 4 groups of Eurofighters plus other assorted friendlies, unable to sustain lock on enemy aircraft, therefore decided to stick to flightplan and not get involved with the furball. On approach to steerpoint 4, our fun started. We encountered Mig19's escorted by Mig23's and Su25's, Su27's and other advanced fighters stayed on the periphery of our engagement or were taken out by other friendlies.
Stuck to plan and were able to get our 4 missiles away almost together in most engagements.
Observation, when engaging the Mig23's around 20nm they accelerate very quickly to 600+ knots and either turn away to outrun the missile or beam it. Delaying the shot to 15-17 nm seems to secure a hit most of the time.

Took off behind Panther4 and climbed to FL310. We kept a ten mile separation. We saw Panther drift west and go to engage targets in our sector. We advised them that we had the targets and they returned to their flight plan while we engaged the first of many enemy aircraft.
The first were Mig-19s. Floyd and I looked to engage them but a flight of Mig 23s appeared but closer. We switched targets while Elmo and Flying Stone took on the 19s. All were destroyed.
As we returned to our flight plane, trying to make it to the patrol area, we had more contacts. More Mig 19s. Floyd and I took three of them down. Elmo and FS took on more Mig23s killing one while I evaded three heaters from them, largely thanks to Floyds good warning calls.
There was no peace as we were soon engaged by SU-37s. Floyd fell victim to them but I managed to kill two of them.
At this point we were given the RTB call by Sabre in Avenger 41 (package commander) and we returned to base.
As a package we lost three aircraft while killing thirty! A good day but still as shame we lost any aircraft.
