Mission Outcome: PS Ingress was hampered by waves of bandits and we made several approaches to the first SA-2 before finally getting a shot off. While we were loitering to ensure the SAM would radiate until impact, we were jumped by SU-27s from the NW and could not outrun the missiles. After a long walk back to the base, we were greeted with hero's welcome by our grateful comrades.
Lesson learned: We should have aborted the mission, given the density of AA threats. |
