Flight leads in this Sunday's official campaign mission, "Balkans Campaign 3" are requested to post a debrief of their flights actions by Tuesday, including any lessons learned or that should be learned by others.

Just to add to Sharpe's report. I am having some issues with Balkans Stability, so had too rejoin. Skal and Sharpe were tasked to take the SA4 and SA6 with Sabre and Jack as backup with an eye on the SA2 as a secondary.
In the event, the SA15's popped up so we deployed all available Shrikes on the SA15's. Sabre had another tech on the way home. so Sharpe continued with lead until RTB.

We encountered a CAP of 2xMig-29As near our STP2, a grinder downed them on the 1st salvo. 3&4 engaged trailing SU-27s, but could not burn through. Reds was shot due to comms issues resulting is SA loss. Established CAP and later met with a KC-135 & HAVCAP. All three hostiles were downed.

Lobo 11: "Floyd" AA=0 AG=0 KIA
Lobo 12: "Veiland" AA=0 AG=0 RTB
Lobo 13: "Elmo" AA=0 AG=2 RS
We've flown holding pattern until SEAD advised to proceed.
When getting close to the target, all SAMs became active
and fired. #1 was shot down and #3 managed to destroy the
runway before getting hit, too. #2 aborted the package
and RTBd.

Lessons Identified
1. SHORAD threat makes low-level target overflight tactics too risky for this stage of the campaign. Sqn needs to work on developing stand-off attack techniques, probably from medium/high altitude.
2. Recovery procedures at home plate were poor and we lost an aircraft in the recovery due to disorientation at night. During debrief following points were made:
a. All aircraft landing at the same airbase under IFR conditions must follow the same recovery procedure.
b. As ATC cannot be relied on, Flight Leads are responsible for slotting their flight into the recovery pattern safely with the go-around procedure to be adopted if necessary,
c. Overhead and battle breaks under IFR/night conditions are now banned.
Recovery to be via a TACAN/ILS straight-in approach from a 10nm Inital Approach Fix (IAF) (MSA must be confirmed) or a STAR as briefed.
d. Sqn will develop better IFR SOPs and train in using them.

Python 14: "Jack" AA=0 AG=2 KIA
At pit Sabre immediately reported a technical so Sharpe took lead. Proceeded to target area when Panther called it was engaging air threats. Flight orbited until all clear called. At this point Python flight began a full attack against its priority targets.
Despite the fact that the SEAD targets were going on and off scope we managed to kill the primary targets and called Lobo forward. At this time the area around the SA6 went live with SA15's and SA8's. Called the threat to Lobo and began TOO attacked against those threats.
Once we were out of HARMS we formed a CAP and waited for Lobo to go feet wet then RTB'd.
During the overhead break Jack flew into a controlled object and was KIA'd.

Learning Points: I think it might be wise to do some training sessions looking at recovery, breaks, landings etc.
