Flight leads in this Sunday's official campaign mission, "Jesters Game (Pt4)" are requested to post a debrief of their flights actions by Tuesday, including any lessons learned or that should be learned by others.

Oops, should read "#3 ejected" as it is in the mission selection form/results.

Floyd - you mention that you lost 3 due to getting within 5 nm of an air threat, but the summary you post shows all RTB. Do you mean the Ai got killed?

Flight took off, heading north with 20nm between elements. That should give
2nd element enough time after 1 and 2 took their shots at the two SA-5.
Enroute we've heard about MiGs flying north of bullseye and we told by
Escort to flex. At that time we made contact with another group coming
in from the west and i've decided to attack them. #1 and #2 attacked,
but #3 got within 5nm to the bandits and was shot down. #2 cleared the
threat and a MiG going after #1.
Then we could attack the two SA-5, but the more dangerous SA-10 never
showed up. Egress and landing were uneventful.

Mako 1: Strike

After discussion about the best approach/munitions combo Mako flight decided to go with enhanced Mav65G's. This offered best tactical flexibility vs the potential for a high or low altitude attack (depending on SA10 activity) and a 1 pass attack.
We departed as briefed and flew slightly lower than our escort at about A20. As we approached the DMZ we could hear a lot of chatter indicating a substantial amount of hostile air threat to the left of our flight path.
As we closed the DMZ a flight of 4 SU15's on our 9 o'clock so we turned to engage. Between us and other package elements we neutralised this threat. However Mako 11 then got engaged by enemy Mig21's at very low altitude. It turns out that Crowbar and an Ai were also engaged in this furball and the Ai was clipped by Mako11.
After this last furball Mako11 had a technical issue and lost situational awareness as package commander and Mako12 and Mako13 attempted relay for Mako11. Nonetheless we went on to hit the target and proceeded home.
Mako 11 executed a flawless emergency landing with full rudder deflection.

Engaged mig 21's early in flight - 2 downed by lead element, 2nd element left to mop up (but I called that late - sorry crowebar)
Weasel flight spotted incoming mi21's Shark 11 instructed Weasel to 360 while we engaged, plenty going on for next 10 mins, 11 and 12 gave good mutual support, lots of mig 21's did not make the return journey. 11 wincester so called 12 to take point.
shark 13 fought his way out of furball and RTB'd
12 continued CAP and escort duties back to home plate.
