Posted - 04 May 2014 : 22:28:46 Flight Role: SEAD Weasel21: "utopic" AA=0 AG=1 RTB Weasel22: "Zipgun" AA=0 AG=3 RTB Weasel23: "Ironman" AA=0 AG=2 RTB Weasel24: AI
Mission Outcome: MS
On the way in, we followed the plan and everything worked until getting close on the first SA2. The plan was to get the AI to take it out but before that was possible, I was engaged by the sam. I went defensive and Zipgun took it out. Then Ironman continued and fired on the other 2 SAMs and took it out.
Kudos for both of them for initiative & execution! :)
Made the call White Night and continued towards STPT5 to regroup. As planned, turned towards our target, descended and was hoping to get a target and VID it. The ground came first, before the fog faded so realized there was no way in hell to continue the attack, called the abort and then CAPed for a bit before running out of fuel.
There were some Mig25 that came in but because of the fuel situation, we were unable to commit or help so we went RTB. |
