MS
On ingress to SP2, we had a group of mig-29 at our nose, turned north. Then we were spiked by mig-29 at our 2 o clock and thus turned south. Both groups were destroyed when we crossed our flightplan and we continued to SP2, flew south of SA2 threat circle at our north and moved on to SP4. Checked in if the SA3s were taken out but they weren't so we did an in-place 360. Coming out of the 360, SEAD reported the SA3 radars to be down so we committed on the target.
We dropped a LGB each at our assigned targets, egressed left to avoid the SA17 at our south. After BDA-ing the target, we did a second pass on the remaining targets and egressed to our SP4.
The flight home was uneventful as the escort and SEAD escort kept the skies clear of any air threats.
VV So did I, Wolfman. :) |

Mission Outcome: MS
On the Ingress we had a 4ship cap-ing on the edge of the Northern SA2, we monitored but didn't plan to engage, and they turned cold. Then we had nails from 29s, however we turned cold, allowing Lobo to engage. Once those were out, we continued towards the target, with #2 in trail being much more heavy, and the second element also in trail.
The strike packages got near the target before us, made the call that the SA3s were still up so they turned cold. I attempted to engage from hi-alt, didn't work as I was engaged before I could get inside GBU WEZ. Turned defensive, and reset for a low alt attack. Zipgun, not being engaged, lofted a CBU at one LowBLow, taking it out. Meanwhile, I lofted from low alt a GBU and took out the other one. The second element took out the launchers, with a little "help" from the 1st elements. Having CBUs left, the 1st element also engaged AAA battalions south of the target.
While the ground targets were engaged, Tiag and Dmans also engaged bandits coming from east , 29s.
Once the ground targets were out, we RTBed with 2nd element in from and 1st element covering the rear. At one moment, Tiag and Dmans had to engage some 29s coming from south-west and then landed.
Even if I still don't like the IT (I must be consistent, right? ) I liked the mission. It had good surprises and a great pace. |
