Mission Outcome: MF

The Plan
The plan was to ingress between the AAA batallions avoiding any kind of enemy fighter and engage 3 ground units close to the target area with JSOWs. We would though engage and attack any enemy A2G aircraft and helicopters.
We were heavy CAT3s with 4 JSOWs and 2 bags.

The Mission
Very soon in the ingress, we picked up 2 enemy groups heading south in our direction. RWR told us they were MIG-25s.
Tried to contact the first escort flight (Snake: Sabr&cia), but go not reply. They were probably sorting etc, saw them moving and acelerating on my FCR.
As fraged, put Stud flight to run heading south (Fig. 1) and informed the other escort flight (Viper:Griffin&cia) that the there were at least two groups of MIG-25s heading south.
While turning left to avoid MIG-25s, I got really damaged by AAA (Fig.2). Ejected stores, passed the command to 3 and headed south, trying to fly the acft. In spite of fuel leak and other stuff damaged, managed to land at Seoul.

Then the major mistake of the mission took place, which led to the loss of Stud 12. Stud 13 after waiting some seconds to get the RWR clean, reordered the flight to go STP3, i.e. north again (I was damaged heading south, but hearing the comms). Stud12 probably did not have the RWR clean, but failed to communicate the situation to Stud13. Stud 12 turned hot again (Fig.3), heading to a trap of MIG-25s and 4 SU-27s. I remember hearing Stud 12 saying he "is engaging MIG-29s" (SU-27 on RWR). Stud 12 was promptly shot down.
By this time, the escort flights got engaged by the enemy and the losses were heavy. (just Elmo in Viper survived?)

The Mistakes

1) No take-off coordination between the flights. There should be a better coordination between the escorts. Take-off was a problem because of wrong take-off times (no SOP!) and a F-14 AI flight messing everything up.

2) I put our flight direct over two AAA sites. Should have destroyed one of them before ingressing. This would have given more combat space for all flights.

3) The loss of Stud12 was due to lack of SA of Stud12 (Check RWR) and wrong leading by Stud13.
i) As lead you should know if ALL RWRs are clean, not just yours.
ii)In a CAT3 F-16 with a RWR with Foxbats and Flankers, YOU NEVER TURN HOT again, if you donīt know exactly the range of the enemy chasing you. (i.e. someone tells you)
iii) Stud12 should have turned cold as soon as he was spiked instead of broadcasting he was engaging while in CAT3.

If I could refly this last part of the ingress again:
I was having problems to fly my damaged F-16 and run from the MIG-25s and comm with other flights, BUT I should have taken Stud12 more the south with me after I was damaged and then passing him to Stud13.
