Flight Role: SEAD ESCORT
Cowboy11: Zipgun AA=0 AG=1 KIA
Cowboy12: Mango AA=0 AG=0 KIA
Cowboy13: Homer AA=0 AG=4 RTB
Cowboy14: Wolfman AA=0 AG=0 RTB

Mission Outcome: MS
Jumped by MIGs at takeoff ... called the flight to run with me and let the F-15s have their fun. Formed up and reported in as FRAG'd ... warned by AWACS the MIGs were inbound, turned flight south to stay clear until the escorts could delouse. Back onto the plan, until we were chased off again. Once AWACS cleared us back in, my SA-2 was active, so I popped him from max range to protect the escorts. While enroute to #2's target, a stray SU27 lit me up and sent me a R77 my way, I managed to trash it, but I didn't know it had a twin. Smoke and flames ... another early night for Zippy.

The flight pressed on (with tears in their eyes) and managed to pop a few SA3s before Mango was KIA not sure what got him because I was watching from 2d heaven. Homer brought the boys home (no pun intended) with a few liters of fuel to spare.

Crowebar, I see what you did there, with the title. :D Personally, the name made me think of another group http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuqEbRzy_t8 . Thanks for the mission, quite enjoyable!

The first element had 2 engagements, and the second element also had 2, but only the second one was with a common enemy group.

Myself & Blade, we engaged a (then) 2ship of Mig29s while the second element pressed forward. Out of this first engagement, one bandit came out alive and was engaged by Floyd and Elmo. When we turned back hot, the 29 already had a missile inbound, and we turned cold heading for STPT3.

While all this was happening, Tiag and Mikuli were engaging a 2ship of Su27s coming in hot from the target area. One made it out alive and shot 2 R77s at Zipgun and took him out.

Afterwards, the second element picked up a 2ship of Mig29s from South, and engaged it. We were in trail and came to support when the Tiag turned cold. While tracking the bandit, Floyd and Elmo were also coming in hot, putting us in a sort of unplanned bracket maneuver. We called the shot, took it, and the Migs went down.

Afterwards we RTBd without other surprises.

What to do better:
comms could have been better on my part, especially during the engagements.
sorting on the first engagement didn't work so great 'cause #1 & #2 fired on the same bandit.
splitting the package might not have been the best idea, not really sure (see Zipgun getting shot).
calling live/surviving bandits seems something quite important, causing losses because of lack of SA

What I liked:
Blade kept formation really good.
as a whole, the flight worked ok.

If anyone needs an ACMI, let me know.
