Mission Outcome: MS
We took off in elements and immediately headed SE to avoid the threats, staying low and fast. Once cleared by AWACs we headed to SP2 and then continued as fragged. Cowboy engaged Su27s and did a superb job of taking them out while we orbited.
We pushed on and then headed in towards the target. En route we engaged Su32s that took an interest in us and managed to bag one each before turning our attention to the AAA battalion.
The Fire Can was still operational but one of my Maverics killed it. We executed a really good "one pass-four missiles fired" pass on the target. The Sorting was excellent and we achieved 12 out of 12 kills.
Returning to base, we had SA13 spikes but managed to land from the sea and parked in the shed.
A really good job by Elmo and Vaughan, including SA and comms. It was a real shame that Novac had a tech.
A very busy mission and very enjoyable.

Mission Outcome: MF
We all actually RTB'd cos it wasn't too far to walk after safely ejecting.
But winding the clock back a bit... we were lined up on the runway ready to take off when the 29 spikes appeared on our RWRs. Kinda panicked, I asked for a picture from the AWACS but of course forgot the fact I was tuned to the tower and got no reply.
We took off in formation, but barely got our wheels stowed when the spikes turned to hard locks - called the flight to turn to intercept/zoom climb to try to get some kind of picture but the hard locks were swiftly followed by active missiles inbound warnings. I think I got to around angels 10 before I hit the silk. All three other flight members were shout down swiftly too.
In all honesty, I don't think we could have done anything other than stay on the ground to avoid being shot down, but that would not have been in the spirit.
Naturally disappointed at the outcome, and I'll resist posting some of the TS text comments that were made... ;) |
