Mission Outcome: MF
Generally my debrief is similar to Vaughan's. Soon after take off we headed out to the east to avoid MIG 23s and ran into Mig 17s. Floyd was on one very quickly and showing great judgment, used guns to take it down. He was concerned that a heater could go wild and take one of us down.
Both of us RTB'd having only fired guns. Interesting landing with a full load out.

Posted - 17 Mar 2013 : 22:14:59 Flight Role: (STRIKE) Falcon11: "Vaughan" AA=0 AG=0 RTB Falcon13: "Doof" AA=1 AG=0 EJT
Mission Outcome: MF
The plan was to come in from the east, avoiding the majority of the SAM threat. On entering the pit, the updated flight plan had not saved, so we followed Lobo using the datalink.
During ingress, the SEAD flight was shot down and AWACS informed us that the SAM threat was still active over the target. The call came in to abort the flight. At this time, we had engaged what I thought was a single MiG23. I got a shot away with Doof following up with a second, which destroyed the MiG. Unfortunately, there was another MiG 23 which got Doof.
RTB was uneventful. |
