Shot down by an enemy from what I can remember.

So, the queston is: What happened to Utopic?
Elmo Posted - 19 Dec 2012 : 20:42:07
I just reviewed the ACMI and the only blue on blue shot was actually Vosene shooting down Floyd....ooops.

Floyd,

I was a Tech not Ejt, still flying when I lost internet again.

I don't have a debrief file for this mission so didn't realise I shot you down. Apologises for that but I know I had a Mig in front of me, not your F-16 when I fired the heater so I'm not sure how it ended up hitting your aircraft.

Glad the CAS got a mission success.

I will be upgrading to Fibre in the New Year so hopefully that will sort out my connection issues.

Flight Role: (Escort)

Lobo51: "Floyd" AA=0 AG=0 EJT
Lobo52: "Utopic" AA=0 AG=0 EJT
Lobo53: "Blade" AA=1 AG=0 EJT
Lobo54: "Vosene" AA=0 AG=0 EJT/TECH

After fighting now standard communication problems with
frequencies and IVC, the flight took off - #4 joining
with a delay.

A bit later we had a single Mig-23 inbound, #1 and #2
committed, but the bandit could push through. At that time
#3 could get missiles off and shot down #2.

The flight became unsorted, and #4 called out 3 incoming MiG-29s,
followed by 2 MiG-23ML. In the following engagement, that was joined
by 2 friendly F-16s, #3 shot down one of the MiG-23ML, before getting
shot by a bandit. #1 was in a turnfight with the other MiG
and was shot down by a 9P from #4, who lost connection thereafter.

Who was flying without IVC? The 185th?

Flight Role: (CAS)
Fury11: "Elmo" AA=0 AG=7 RTB
Fury12: "Vaughan" AA=1 AG=0 RTB
Fury13: "Griffin" AA=0 AG=6 RTB

Mission Outcome: MS

Took off and climbed to angels 20 with about 20 miles seperation from the escort flight. On receiving Mig23 spikes turned to left of flight path to give seperation for escort flight to attack. After 30 seconds or so turned back towards target but saw more contacts left of scope so flew to right of flight plan for escort to engage targets. On turning hot to target again a solo Mig21 appeared on radar which we engaged. A slightly scrappy engagement due to us all being Cat3 but good comms between us which led to griffin getting on his tail and putting a missile up his pipe, unfortunately it did not destroy him but Vaughan was then able to finish him off. After resuming flight plan about 15 miles from target we were informed of an air threat to the right of target which Vaughan went to engage while Griffin and myself engaged the ground threats. We managed to get all of our mavericks off in one pass at the same time as Vaughan was dealing with a Mig17. Upon completing our attack run we were informed by Awacs of multiple incoming bandits at which point I called for the flight to RTB having successfully engaged the target with 16 mav's and only having heaters between us. We all returned home safely.

I enjoyed this mission, although most of the escort got shot down (mainly blue on blue) they actually did their job and kept us safe most of the way to target enabling us to complete the mission.

Lesson learnt though is that you CAN NOT play on Battle for Sinai or Red Flag unless you have IVC working as it is essential for communications between other human pilots for calling Rayguns etc.

I had the same as Vaughan, but only once. I did have poor frame rates this time, but it didn't hamper me too much.

I had the Esc screen pop up two or three times, but nothing else.
Vosene Posted - 16 Dec 2012 : 22:09:20
Apologies for disappearing during the mission tonight, my internet connection dropped out again.

I had big issues tonight, had a CTD, no IVC comms, 2 dropped Internet connections, warping and the Escape key screen kept popping up.

Did anyone else have issues?
