Mission Outcome: MS
Our objective was to strike two front-line airbases: Hatzerim and Dahania-Arafat. The plan was to split into two elements mid flight and attach each base simultaneously, in order to minimize our time in the region. We had complete success, with both bases being shut down entirely.
Takeoff was uneventful. We were ahead of the escort flight, so circled the airfield slowly and climbed while we the escort took off.
At steerpoint 3, we split off with 1 (Vaughan) heading north to Dahania-Arafat and 2 (Floyd) and 3 (Blade) continuing east to Hatzerim. About 45 seconds later, we were all off target, cold and heading to our rendezvous at steerpoint 7.
Recovery was uneventful. All three of us RTB'd successfully.
A pleasant flight with excellent support from both escorts. We didn't come across any bandits and there was minimal AD (I had a hawk spike when climbing out of Dahania-Arafat, but nothing came of it). |
