Game is Tactical Engagement type Networked Mission name: Unlucky 4 Us Mission Type: Deep Strike Flight Callsign: Cowboy1 4 Ship Flight Ac type: F-16A-MLU Country: Slovenian #1 Novac #2 Mango #3 Blade #4 AI Decided to attack the target with a mixture of BSU49, BSU50 & MK20D using a low level approach. Took off and remained 40 miles in trail of Falcon flight with 10 mile separation between cowboy elements. 15 Min's into flight cowboy was asked to hold while mig 29's were dealt with. Which were quickly shot down. Close to the SA4 sights asked to hold once again due to air threats I made a mistake after one or 2 orbits by asking the flight to return to course before all enemy were shot down. #1 was spiked by a MIG29. Luckily was able to lock it and fire a aim120 which got a kill. With the picture clear we went below the SA4 threat. At the target site several passes were required to destroy the number of targets. The only target that caused problems was a heli pad that was not on the target list! We then RTB'd same route out. With Falcon flight declaring RTB due to low fuel and weapons. But with picture clear was not a problem + Cowboy was CAT 1 at that point. #2 reported low fuel on return but with a gentle climb to altitude he managed to save fuel and landed with fuel to spare. Nice Coms form Escort and good calls from Crowebar in AWACS. Also good coms between Cowboy flight. Nice mission with a little low flying for a nice change. Ballistic	Posted - 20 Jun 2010 : 23:55:30 Falcon 1 - Escort Ballistic joined as Falcon11 Crowebar joined as Falcon12 Dmans1 joined as Falcon13 Griffin joined as Falcon14 Plan was to deal with AA threats on route to stpt3 then drop to low angels < 1000ft and fly beneath SA4 radar envelopes to stpt4 then climb to high angels & form a CAP to clear strike flight in. Lead element flew 10 miles ahead of trail element and picked up a pair of bandits to the north close to stpt 3. Another pair were detected to the NE and #1 & 2 engaged the left and #3 & 4 the right group (Mig 29Ss/Mig 29As). #1 locked up lead and released slammer at 22 miles (agreed minimum engagement distance) then went defensive. ~3 & 4 successfully engaged the more easterly bandits but #2 was unable to lock up the 2nd Mig29S and was shot down by R77. The Mig was taken out by #1. #3 & 4 were instructed to proceed to target area and #1 followed in a 5-10 mile trail all dropping to very low level at stpt3 to evade the SA4 detection. Crowebar took the role as AWACs and reported a 2 ship of Mig 29s heading towards the strike flight. #1 instructed the 2nd element to proceed at low level to target area and #1 turned 180 degrees to engage the Migs and strike flight to turn back away from the threat. #1 climbed asap and engaged the Migs, knowing they had height advantage the intention was to get them to turn quickly, 2 slammers were fired and #1 turned quickly but unfortunately the missiles missed (well they are called miss-iles!). #1 managed to get another slammer off with HOJ & did eventually kill one bandit, but also had to go immediately defensive from R77 and R27R that finished him - ejected. #3 took the lead and turned back to deal with the remaining mig but the strike flight managed to deal with it allowing #3 to re-join with 4 and successfuly form a CAP over target area with a couple of Mig 29As and Mig 21s being destroyed. #3 managed to take a bit of flak (AAA damage) but his AC was flyable and weapons/radar remained usable. Once strike flight had been cleared in and done their job #3 & 4 RTB'd flying low below the SA4 radar again from stpts 9-10 - mission success. Enjoyable TE - thanks Griffin
