Green Flight Escort Sabre, Raptor.
Chose to proceed to steerpoint 5 just outside the SA5 engagement circle and wait for traffic. Engaged the Migs and Su 27's, AI did a great job destroying his targets, Raptor and I only damaged ours but it was enough to send them packing.
Panther announced the SA5 was down shortly followed by the SA6. Requested and received support from Panther for remaining Migs.
Moment of confusion number 1, Raptor fired a slammer at Theron who managed to evade it, nearly a blue on blue.
Escort took up a barcap position just south of the target steerpoint due to the SA8's.
Waited for confirmation that strike were off target with target destroyed. One strike aircraft damaged and limped to alternate. Encountered Su39's on way home, taken care of by Panther flight.
Moment of confusion number 2, Panther landed at wrong end of runway forcing a late go around for Python flight. Still need to work on this guys. Its called a landing sequence and you need to remember your number to land.
Overall a good mission and a good outing for Raptor on his first official TE.
A couple of communication issues but otherwise went well.
Mission success and all aircraft RTB.

Mission Failed.
After allowing the SEAD and the Escort to get ahead and start to clear the way we took off. But numb nuts here decided it would be a great idea to lower my gear at over 300knots!!  Novac took the lead but as both flights in front of us were getting hammered, it didn't look good. I diverted to the alternate and made a damned good belly landing, even if I do say so myself. Novac wasn't so lucky as an SA-6 unit went active as he was flying over them. Novac had no chance and was shot down.
In hindsight it was agreed that we should have pulled our route south, away from any threats from the north. A difficult TE but who wants an easy life eh?

The package as a whole moved flight plan South to remain outside Kunsan patriot envelope in target area. Escort flight plan was Northernmost to form a barrier in front of Lobo.
On reaching the SA5 envelope Python turned in a Southernly direction while Panther flight attended to the SA5. At this time we became aware of a flight of 2 mig-29S approaching from towards the centre of the SA5 threat. AWACs called them at 60 miles. We monitored the threat while waiting for the inbound HARM to hit. By the time the first HARM missed, and a 2nd HARM was on it's way the Mig-29 were at 35 miles. Knowing that they were almost certainly carrying active homing missiles they were now getting too close to leave any longer and Python flight turned to engage.
The mig29 were now above us in height and split. Medic!'s bandit continued to press, while mine turned cold and dragged me for a few minutes. I was aware that Medic!s bandit to my right was now very close, as my bandit turned hot and we exchanged missiles. I immediately went defensive, was unable to outrun the missile and was taken out, as was my AI wingman. The mig 29 got the same from me, leaving Medic and his AI fighting the other Mig29. The SEAD Panther flight had both been shot down by now, and the SA5 was still active and just to keep Medic on his toes, took a shot at him. Medic managed to avoid the missiles from both the mig29 and SA5, and damaged the Mig-29 enough for it to run for home. However his no 4 wingman was not so lucky and was shot down.
The Mig-29's were closely followed by a couple of SU27 one of which was damaged by Medic, who was also damaged in return as he found that he had no radar and so RTB'd. This now left the strike flight on their own. Medic had a further tangle with some SU27 on route to base, managing to avoid being hit by these. With no further incident Medic RTB'd ok.

Lobo 1 - Strike

Loaded up with 4 C5 slammers, 1 GBU, 1 MK84 & 3 Mk82's, 1 wing tank & 1 belly tank (no jammer) to give us flexibility of high or low level strike. Circled outside the SA5 envelope as Escort dealt with AA and SEAD Escort attempted to take out SA5 radar. Unfortunately the SA5 was not supressed so Lobo jettisoned the GBU's and decided on a low level attack. As 1 SU27 was still in the vicinity Lobo 12 kept it busy with Lobo 11 dropping below the SA5 radar engagement altitude. On ingress to target Lobo 11 was forced to turn defensive to a R27RE from the SU27 then turned back toward target after Lobo 12 eventually killed the bandit (4 slammers later!). Lobo 11 was hit by an SA8 and ejected. Lobo 12 attempted a strike run but the target area was too hot so he RTB'd.
I'm not sure exactly what "Lobo 1 attacks Mokpo Port" meant officially. I have interpreted this as Lobo 1 must have been releasing weapons on the target and not just on the attack phase to target so therefore all flights got a mission failed. A bit hard on the Escort flight I thought.
Nevertheless an enjoyable TE that looked like it hinged around taking out the SA5 so SEAD Escort was critical.

Agreed during planning to stay with GBU attack from altitude as we didn't know what defense was in the area. It turned out to be a good choice.
Ingress some 40nm behind SEAD. Held a couple of times on the way in waiting for SAMs and air threats to be destroyed but no spikes on RWR. Got a good call from Mango as Panther1 to avoid North of track due to Patriot.
Pushed into target area and engaged docks. My first GBU hit Northern most dock and destroyed it. Snakebite was off dry due to cloud.
On second pass Snakebite called both docks destroyed, I asked him to engage to be sure. His first GBU hit a dock and on his final pass he hit an SA-8. I was already in hot to support so I decided to press my attack but just after I released my second GBU I was hit by flak. Did an emergency jettison and managed to get control of the jet but had no nav and was stuck in A2G mode.
Snakebite took the lead and guided me to alternate. No other dramas on the way back and after a difficult approach I managed to get the jet on the ground. Banged up but home safe. Good landing by Snakebite.
Overall good support from SEAD and Escort and learned not to press my luck over the target no matter how benign it seems.
